Shepherd Moon

This is the second year in a row that we come here. It’s a lovely, comfortable home, with all amenities and a fireplace. The wine and biscuits were a nice touch. The location and views are stunning. And there’s an amazing beach a few minutes away on foot. We will come back!

Stunning location, we chose this property as a stopover on our way home from Orkney but it turned out so much more. Stonehaven was a beautiful place and we had a lovely few days to end our Highland and Island adventure. The property was stunning, well equipped and the views were spectacular.

The only thing we would have changed was the downstairs bathroom, it was a long way in the dark in the middle of the night

This was beyond our dreams, I travelled from New Zealand to do the NC500 and this was just perfection, thank you 😍

What a wonderful, cozy cottage! The rooms were wonderful and the kitchen was superb. It was great to have access to a washing machine with a drying function (which isn't always the case). We stopped in Thurso to get our dinner supplies as we drove to Talamine. Nothing was lacking at the house. We loved it and wished that we had stayed longer.

We stayed at Shepherd Moon on the day that Storm Amy hit. The winds were ferocious. The bathroom window was not well sealed so it was whistling all night long. The stairway up to the bedroom is REALLY narrow. Since I am somewhat disabled, I had to have my brother-in-law drag my suitcase up the stairs.

It was clean, comfortable, well appointed and easy to get to. The view was magnificent. It felt like we were staying in a friend's home.
