House of Nikol - Cycladic Sensation

Очень красивый дизайн, уютно! Просто душевно сделано для гостей, интересный декор. Есть посуда, чайник, утюг, тостер, микроволновка, фен, косметика для душа. На улице чистый глубокий басейн возле дома сразу же, есть шезлонги и прекрасный вид вдаль. Утром очень классно в нем плавать. Вечером можно сесть на террасе и поужинать с видом на Миконос, наблюдая заход солнца. Владелеца помогла сориентироваться, как быстро найти, очень приветливые люди! Очень понравилось пребывание. Хотелось бы еще вернуться! Немного далековато к морю, лучше брать машину или мотоцикл на прокат или такси ( но это дорого).

Beautiful villa, cute pool, spacious, all you need inside. The owner is really nice and helps you with all you need. The location si 15 min away by car to almost every interest point. Its a calm place, with a wonderful sunset view.

The house is beautiful, quite spacious, very clean and well-equipped. And travelling in June we found it to be very good value for Mykonos. Nice views of the surrounding countryside from the terrace and all rooms. Close to the village of Ano Mera which has a few tavernas and bars and is more relaxing, less over-priced and a little bit more authentically Greek than Mykonos town. Several small supermarkets a few minutes' walk away. Nice countryside nearby, beaches a few Km away and a few minutes' walk to the bus-stop that takes you to Mykonos Town or the beaches for 2 Euros!

We arrived at night and despite being told we'd be met with the keys, at the last minute we got a message saying she couldn't make it - with photos of where to find the keys, the wifi code & how the water heater worked. Climbing up two flights of stairs with heavy bags and using a phone torch to find the key wasn't easy when it was so windy. It would have been nicer to be met on arrival & given some basic info about the area. The private terrace is lovely and the pool area is nice but the house is in quite an exposed area and high winds throughout our nine-day visit (end of June) made them (& the beach) unusable for most of the time - not the fault of the property but disappointing. Something to bear in mind - the house is on a steep hill slightly outside the village. Not an issue if you decide to hire a car or have strong legs but quite a work-out if carrying heavy shopping. The island has changed a lot since my last visit in 2007 and we didn't feel as though we were in Greece at all. We found things significantly over-priced compared with lots of other islands and the Peloponnese and it was almost impossible to walk around Mykonos Town due to the hordes of cruise-ship visitors and incessant traffic (big black vans ferrying tourists around). In most restaurants and bars, as they take your order (often without a smile) they ask you "Card or cash" and the service is often rushed. So you end up feeling like a cash cow to be 'serviced' as quickly and efficiently as possible, rather than a welcome guest. By searching hard we DID manage to find a few exceptions, restaurants with good food at closer to normal prices and staff who wanted to create a good experience - who were usually sad about the over-commercialisation of the island. If you like the expensive party life-style, elegant shops, expensive hotels and glamour I guess Mykonos Town is right for you.
