Lila hill house

Villa is based in Stalos which is right on the edge of where three resorts begin. As a result the villa itself was pretty quiet, and being up the hill got a lovely breeze. But then it's only 10 mins walk down the hill to shops, restaurants and the beach. If you head left it gets gradually busier as you get into Agia Marina and then Platanias. We had a car so easy to get into Chania or drive to the local attractions, but we saw loads of buses on the main road if you are using public transport. Beaches were great, sea was warm, plenty of bars and places to eat. The owner Nondas and the cleaner Diana were both really helpful and quick to respond to any questions or problems. The villa is more than big enough for 2 adults and two teenagers (there are 3 double rooms so could easily fit 6). There was everything you need in the kitchen, plus a BBQ outside, separate aircon in each bedroom and in the main living area. There was a dishwasher, washing machine, and they'd left cleaning pods for both. Pool was great, loads of sun loungers, and as the sun moved round there was always somewhere whether you wanted sun or shade. Overall excellent, loved it.

The house is big, very nice and very close to the beach. When we arrived there was a welcome pack with fruit, milk, water, toast... a very nice touch. We loved the reserved space with a table, chairs and sun loungers that they have in front of the beach. Communication with Nondas, the person who manages the house, has been fantastic, always attentive and with a quick response. The personal attention and flexibility they offer is 10/10.

The thing we liked least was the pool, it is a bit old and needs to be renovated, in all the corners there are dark stains from the passage of time. We have bathed and it was great to cool off, but it needs to be renovated.

We like everything.Perfect location to beach,to local center,to town Chania.Super vacation was,amazing experience in Crete.We love people who was rented this house for us.Thank you.

Where was nothing we didn't like.

The sea views were lovely and the villa was very clean and more spacious than the pictures can show. We had a linen and towel change every 3 days and the cleaner, Diana, was friendly and helpful. The pool is a good size (8m x 4m, and depth of 1m to 1.5m). The sofas and beds were comfortable and the villa was well equipped. The coffee machine was good and the welcome pack (bread, milk, ham and cheese, fresh fruit, butter and jam, water and coffee) was plentiful. Washing machine and dishwasher tablets provided, and having pool towels was very useful. There is use of a private beach with 6 sunbeds plus table and 6 chairs and outdoor shower too. Lovely view directly to the sea and sandy beach, and only approx a 15 min walk away. Nondas the host was very fast with communication and flexible with departure times, plus arranged taxi transfer from airport. Lots of mini markets and good restaurants all within a few minutes walk of the villa (uphill on the way back but stop and admire the views to break it up!) Overall, a very relaxing stay at Lila Hill House, thanks you.

Sunbeds were adequate but could do with updating to match the quality of the rest of the villa. Lots of tiny ants outside, with a few venturing into the bedroom at one stage. Hard to manage the ant army though.

We were very impressed with our stay starting with the friendly welcome when we were met and shown around and given lots of tips for our stay. There was a basic welcome kit including water, milk, bread which was really useful. The house was really clean and spacious. It was very well equipped and had super air conditioning. We were very impressed to have a cleaner and fresh bedding and towels twice in a 10 day stay. Great to have pool towels as well. The washing machine and dish washer were handy. The beds were comfy and lots of hot water. The outdoor area was well equipped, the pool was lovely with 6 sun loungers and we used the BBQ and outdoor table and comfortable chairs. There was a pretty view of the sea. The walk to the beach was about 10 minutes - a bit slower back as it is uphill! The beach is great, long, quiet and mostly sandy with clear water. We saw fish swimming there so very clean. You can hire beach loungers. We went a little further along the beach and used the private garden with loungers and chairs for free at the Lila House accommodation. It was well shaded and had a shower. The resort was quiet with a choice of great tavernas, beach bars and a handy supermarket near by. We also took the local bus to a bigger supermarket which was about a 10 minute ride away. We used this bus to visit Chania also which was cheap and ran regularly. Highly recommended visit for the pretty quaint streets, harbour and lots of gift shops. The communication was excellent with the owner and we arranged our transfer from the airport with him at a good price. I would highly recommend the villa for a relaxing holiday.

Great house lovely and quiet with a great view

Not hugely child friendly for small Children. No highchair or child friendly cups plates etc. lots of glass!
