Donkieshoek Accommodation & Campsite, Calvinia

Karen was excellent, communicated very well. My wife and daughter loved the dancing ostriches and friendly donkeys!

Our one night stay at Donkieshoek was nothing short of fantastic. Tucked away in the rural outskirts of Calvinia, just a short drive from the local Spar, this self-catering gem exceeded all expectations. ✨🏞️ The place was spick and span, which is always a huge plus. And they didn't hold back on the amenities. From backup power during load shedding to electric blankets on the beds, panel heaters in every room, ceiling fans, air fryer, smart TV, and reliable WiFi. 🛏️🔌📺 The lady who greeted us was warm and welcoming. Plus, it was a nice surprise when a farm worker dropped off some fresh eggs – We appreciated that a lot! 🥚😊 As for comfort, the beds were big and nice (each room had one bed that felt like a king size and then a single bed as-well), and the abundance of quality towels didn't go unnoticed. And the price was surprisingly reasonable given the high standards of the place. 💤👌 The presence of friendly donkeys and ostriches on the farm (who loves to dance for you) added to the charm of the location. 🐴🕺🦢 In a nutshell, Donkieshoek is a gem worth checking out if you're passing through Calvinia. Highly recommended! 👍🌟

We had a Canadian friend traveling with us and he sure could do with an air conditioner

Tastefully decorated, good views, comfortable big beds and good quality bedding, dancing ostrich, friendly donkeys.

Extra toiletpaper would have been nice, we ran out.
