Casas do Baleeiro - Whaler's Houses by Rentery Madeira

We stayed in White Whale House, on the first floor, one of the five apartments available. Clean and very well equipped as a self catering unit, close to two small, friendly supermarkets. Cançal is on east of the Island of Madeira, a short drive from Machico and the airport at Santa Cruz. The capital town, Funchal, can be reached in under half an hour along excellent roads. My one criticism of the apartment. We stayed in Jjanuary, the evenings are cold. A fan heater would have been welcome. The lady house keeper was friendly and efficient. When we had a small problem with the pod coffee maker, she quickly resolved it. Communication with the property owner by email worked well. Access to the property on arrival was very easy thanks to a well timed instructional email. All in all, we had a wonderful stay.

The lack of a heater to boost the temperature in the chilly evenings.

It was a great location for us to get to the airport early morning with a rented car. Access to other parts of the island are also easy since it’s close to fast routes. The apartament is spacious and well organized. Very close to supermarket and a great bakery/pastry shop.

Bardzo dobry układ mieszkania- jest kuchnia z jadalnią połączona z salonem, osobna sypialnia z dużą szafą oraz przestronna łazienka. Jest wyjście na prywatny taras, pralka. Powitalny kosz z owocami i winem.

W apartamencie było brudno- stół w jadalni tłusty, naczynia nie do końca nieumyte. Pościel i ręczniki miały bardzo nieprzyjemny zapach- wilgoci/stęchlizny. Dodatkowo ręczniki nie był czyste ponieważ w wielu z nich były włosy. Bidet w łazience nie działa, kabina prysznicowa nie była czysta- również włosy i osady kamienia na drzwiach. Brak suszarki na pranie (jest tylko na zewnatrz w postaci sznurków)- jest to utrudnienie ponieważ jest bardzo wilgotno i pranie po prostu nie schło. TV zepsute- zgłoszone do właścicieli i zaproponowali zmianę apartamentu na inny w tej samej lokalizacji ale ostatecznie zostaliśmy w naszym. W apartamencie są przyprawy i oliwa ale nie wyglądały na świeże, więc ich nie używaliśmy.

Everything went well and great place to stay near to the Port snd very calmer.
