The Garnet Ranch Large Yard Near Jackson USC

The location was easy to access Fort Jackson. Close to shops but not in town.

The home was filthy. The baseboards were covered in dirt. The bathroom floor was nasty. The kitchen cabinets had a gross grease film. Even the couch felt dirty. The vents were black. The carpet in living room looks like it hadn’t been swept we couldn’t find a broom or sweeper. No bath mats in the bathrooms. My feet had dirt on them after stepping out of the shower. The floor of one bathroom shower was caving in. The other had hair in it. The smell from the main sink stunk like sewage. The kitchen tools were very slim. No baking sheet or colander. Did laundry and had to clean the washer first. The garage floor was covered in dirt and debris. The bed in the double room felt broken. The larger bed was at an angle and the single double was very hard. The trundle beds were nice. Plenty of beds. Ac worked great. This property could be great but sadly missed the bar.

My family and I did NOT stay at property related to ROACHES being noted.

Upon entering the home is smelled like wet mold, floors noted to have crumbs on floor and a sticky residue. The first bathroom in the hallway had a dried ring of urine at the base of the toilet. All of these things were noted but my family could have looked over it because we traveled 12hrs and had family day at Fort Jackson for another 8hrs. We were exhausted! BUT WHEN I TURNED THE FAUCET ON IN THE KITCHEN OUT RAN 2 ROACHES; I was able to record 1 of the roaches running into the silverware drawer. I then notified the property and stated that my family and I cannot stay in the house related to my 9yr old son being asthmatic and the fact it’s disgusting sleeping with roaches in a home. Property stated they can have someone come out and SPRAY PEST CHEMICALS. Which can further cause distress in a person who is respiratory compromised. My family and I immediately left the home and booked a hotel spending an additional $457. Property stated they were unable to refund full amount for the stay but can refund the $140 which was the cleaning fee for a home they were not going to clean. When I requested a better refund we agreed to refund $200 (still a loss for me) property then requested I sign a release stating I will not leave disparaging comments about property. I refused to sign and requested a full refund. No where in their policy does it state a renter has to stay on property if pest are a issue. Yet I was supposed to settle for a $200 refund. The property’s customer service representative spoke in circles, did not take my son’s medical diagnosis into consideration, did not resolve the issue that we did NOT stay in the home and that I was out of $433 for a home that was unsafe for my son’s health which could have lead to a medical emergency and it’s disgusting not knowing if a roach will be in your food or on you while sleeping. I reached out to booking.com in regard to the issue (no response as of yet). The pictures on booking.com are inaccurate.

The amount of space and beds were great .

Older home in a quiet neighborhood. Beds are very comfortable. The water pressure and hot water is amazing. Any questions were answered quickly. This place is away from the hustle and traffic of town and base and has a Walmart close by. The yard was enjoyed by the kids and it was nice that it is enclosed. Would stay here again if I need to go back to the area.
