Malthouse Farm Cottage Studio

The studio flat is lovely. This is our second stay as it was so good the first time. The little kitchen met our needs and the shower has great pressure. The countryside is beautiful and there's a huge amount to do within a reasonable driving distance. My young nephews loved the cows, the trampoline and the toy vehicles, as well as the really excellent recreation ground over the road. And since our last visit in January a very friendly young cat called Rory has arrived!

We should have remembered the obvious difference between January and August: much lighter and earlier mornings. The curtains are all very thin, so we had to hang towels and bedspreads over the windows so we could sleep past 5-ish. If you're an early riser this won't be a problem.

The owner is lovely, ideally situated for Alton Towers with a pub a few minutes walk. The view is great and the facilities are all there that you need for your stay, 4 of us stayed in the cottage and it was a little cramped at feeding time but you can get by with some coordination. Place is clean and comfy, the internet is good with a good sized TV.

Non stick pans would be a big help for cooking and cleaning up afterwards and heavier curtains to block out the morning sunlight coming through the windows, other than that not much to not like, I'd recommend and stay again

A lovely studio cottage, clean, well equipped with a huge friendly welcome 🙏 Studio had all we needed, a comfy bed, kitchen utensils, and a nice ensuite bathroom. We will definitely return and recommend 👌

Perfect for our visit to Alton Towers, everything we needed. The kids loved the space to run outside. Highlight for them was a visit from Rory the cat!
