Very quirky and interesting. Well equipped. Beautiful setting with wonderful views

Stairs were steep and felt a little precarious but didn’t affect stay.

The view was wonderful, the reception rooms beautifully furnished and spacious, the kitchen well-equipped. Lovely local walks, very homely. Good selection of books and DVDs.

The stairs were ominous for our elderly relatives, especially in the night, which was difficult with only a downstairs toilet. The conservatory was cold, as was the whole house on arrival. It would have been good to have some additonal blankets for the beds as we hit a cold spell

We were deeply disappointed that on arrival the cottage was very cold - it felt extremely inhospitable to arrive at a cold cottage. Warmth is one of the first things that helps people feel welcome and helps them relax. Logs were not included in the price so we brought our own but the fire did not throw out a lot of heat in the way a woodburner does. We were cold in bed on the first night and had to put towels over the duvet - there were no spare blankets in the main room; we discovered extra blankets the following day in the second bedroom. It felt like the heating had not been on in the cottage for a very long time and so it only really started to feel warm on our second day. We didn't appreciate the enormous cobweb at the side of the wardrobe in the main bedroom.

Good location lots of lovely walks without going far in the car

Was on a very busy road but it is where it is & didn't detract from from our enjoyment..garden & views were amazing
