"First class stay!"

10.0

This property was fabulous. It was full of antiques and just looked like someone's home. It felt so comfortable. The kitchen and bathrooms were up to date but the location and all the furnishings hinted at another time and place. We loved the location. We could walk all over town from there. The patio was huge and such fun to hang out on in the morning and evenings. The washer was a plus and worked just great. We totally enjoyed our stay.

There are lots of stairs in the home, so it is not for anyone who has ambulatory issues.

"Too old and cold. Needs central heat and renovation. Felt like medieval cold was creeping in."

It was quite cool in April, will unseasonably low temps. There was a fireplace and portable space heaters in most rooms, but only the bathroom became comfortably warm, and we huddled under blankets and fed the fire for our one night visit (which we were grateful for).

In a wonderful location near the entrance to town with access to parking near the church which makes it easy to unload luggage. The size of the house from the street is deceptive as it is quite large inside with a wonderful balcony at the back overlooking the valley. Nicely decorated with a fully equipped kitchen, two bathrooms and comfy beds. If mobility is an issue for anyone in your party there are a number of stairs to consider to access the kitchen, bathrooms and 2 lower bedrooms, some without a hand rail. The local contact was lovely and we managed to communicate even with the language barrier.

Communication with the host and local contact was good, before and during our stay, so disappointed that there was no response to a message after we left concerning a medical article left behind

"We loved our stay and would love to come back again some day"

10.0

Nave de Pedra is a lovely family home in the village of Monsanto. Monsanto is known for being built on top of a hill, in between and around massive boulders. The setting is simply magical, with stone lanes winding their way up to the castle ruins at the top of the hill. I was grateful that Nave de Pedra was not too far up the hill, as the lanes are steep and the idea of pulling suitcases up in the searing heat was not appealing. The house itself was beautifully and tastefully decorated. The bedrooms are on the lower ground floor, so nice and cool. There is a lovely balcony with views down the hill and across the countryside. It was perfect for watching sun rise and sun set. The hostess had kindly left us fresh figs in the fridge, picked from the garden. There were 2 bathrooms, as well as use of washing machine and the kitchen was fully equipped.

Everything was perfect.
