Great location, attention to detail and generous hospitality

The house is quirky, in a quirky position. Large and traditional with several rooms, a great roof terrace with beautiful views and flowers. Interestingly furnished with traditional items. There are not good opportunities to buy food, other than at tavernas, in the village itself but this problem was avoided by the fact that the hosts provided some local foods. The village itself is in an ideal position for the Amari area and the flowers of the Gious Campos – including many kinds of orchids and the wild tulips. (There in mid April.)

Not a complaint but just to be aware: the bedrooms might not all be easily accessible to those who cannot climb steeply. There is one on the ground floor but then access to the bath/shower rooms could be an issue. All fine for those who are physically able to access them.

An exceptionally beautiful village house, renewed and designed with much taste and love. One of the nost beutiful old village houses I've seen! Super comfortable, sparkling clean, with generous gifts awaiting the guests. Wonderful hosts!! I would stay here 3 months with joy 😀

Endroit de rêve! Un hôte à l'écoute et très présent pour toute demande ou question! C'est une maison extraordinaire a l'ancienne avec une superbe cheminée qu'on peut allumer. Très confortable! Internet parfait!

Paradise on earth

Too short

This rental is absolutely a dream. It is completely amazing and I planned my trip around this day and it was worth it. It looks exactly like the photos. The wonderful things they leave for you in the kitchen were so much appreciated. Host is very responsive. Area is super unique, and we love the truly community nature of meronas.

Oltre una villa, praticamente un museo con tante decorazione locale e tradizionale, che ci fa avere una esperienza indimenticabile del luogo. I padroni di casa sono premurosi e molto gentile. La casa è estremamente ben fornita, riscotruita con gran gusto, è un luogo da vivere!! La casa è SPLENDIDA come nelle foto ma molto molto più grande da come sembra nea foto... È stata una piacevole sorpresa 😊

What an incredible location and space to be in and what generous and warm hospitality from Manolis (whose recommendations, history of the home and lovely welcome moved us) and Mrs. Eleftheria (whose welcome, smile, heart and breakfast offerings delighted us and needed no verbal language!). Beyond the unique and extraordinary home itself is the beauty of the local people, surrounding villages and the food! This was absolutely the highlight of our two weeks in Crete. There is a bus service that brings you to Meronas from Rethymno, however the drive (End of May) was effortless from Chania and the freedom to visit surrounds is amazing. North or South are beaches about 40 minutes away. If I could, I'd visit in August for the Cretan Music Workshops (This would be incredible!) Also, no photo could do the views justice, especially as the sun set.

The mattress downstairs is very thin and firm which is difficult for hip problems but I still would do it all again!
