Shepherds Hut in the Hills - Nr. Mold

I booked the Hut in the Hills for 4 nights & I'm always willing to pay a higher price because WiFi is included. As a solo female the main requirement for me is being able to contact family (& vice versa) in the case of an emergency. On arrival I asked if the WiFi connection was all ok & was told WiFi wasn't available in the hut & that it isn't advertised as being, when in fact, it was very clearly advertised on the booking website. Later I was told if I wanted a WiFi connection I'd have to stand outside the owners house. I found this totally unacceptable. The hut is located at the side of the owners home, approximately 10 meters away & their driveway is right outside the hut's door entrance, so cars/people are coming & going. There is the option of sitting in a tiny 'Summer House' across the driveway but again it's overlooked by the owners home. Unfortunately I didn't feel comfortable at all with the lack of privacy during my stay & couldn't sit outside in peace which was disappointing as the weather was lovely. The cabin itself was clean enough but small. The bathroom window which isn't frosted is directly facing the owners property, the small shutters do not cover the window so I had to fully cover it with a hand towel. There are no coat & key hooks. The key to the hut is attached to a large piece of wood which is really unpractical to carry around. There's a large fridge but no freezer compartment. I really disliked having to make up the bed every night & found the mattress & pillows too firm. The seating foam is thin & incredibly uncomfortable & I kept catching my legs on the corners of the large table. Maybe this hut is ok for an overnight stay but it was a huge disappointment for me compared to other Shepherd's huts I've stayed in & more importantly the advertisement for it is completely misleading.

Lovely place to stay if you are looking for peace quiet and relaxation with gorgeous views . Pauline , Ian and Teddy the dog were excellent hosts friendly and welcoming but never intrusive . The hut itself was immaculately clean and well thought out with everything you needed , the pull out bed was very comfortable . The garden was well looked after and included a bbq ( again spotlessly clean ) The summer house was an added bonus offering beautiful views of the clywidian mountain range .

Nothing .. wish we could have stayed longer .

This place is amazing. In a fabulous location. Pauline Ian and teddy were fabulous hosts. We went to turn off from the world for afew days and that exactly what we did. They have thought of everything and more you need. Nothing is missed We will definitely be returning xx Thank you so much. Xx

Cosy, had everything, peaceful with only the cows providing noise, lovely views and wonderful hosts with a lovely little dog, Teddy 🙂

Single track drive - beware!

Lovely place to stay. Amazing location for walks!!

Incredible little place so well designed and ideal for our 2 night break. Could have stayed longer; stunning views walks from the door and very comfy bed.
