Casa do Parâmio - Montesinho

The house is gorgeous and well equipped. It was exceptionally clean too! There was great contact with our hosts. Beware that the village is quite remote - there is only a bar, and the closest supermarket is about 30 mins away. However this is exactly what we were looking for!

La casa es una maravilla, todo genial, está en nuestro Top Ten!! Muy amplia, dos habitaciones y las dos con baño completo, la cama que utilizamos super cómoda; cocina muy equipada, salón con sofás, sillones y una gran mesa comedor, terraza con mesa y sillas donde pudimos desayunar y cenar. Ubicación perfecta para conocer el Parque Natural Montesinho

Quizás las luces algo tenues pero es algo secundario

This is a beatiful cottage that provides all modern amenities while preserving its charm. Very well equipped house and a kind owner.

The downstairs living area, although VERY dark was comfortable and homely The washer was a welcome surprise

Because the house is so dark we had hoped to be able to spend time outside and on the balcony. However it is now badly overgrown by a huge walnut tree. The neighbouring properties have nearly all been abandoned and are sadly collapsing … the result is very depressing. The mattress is really dreadful … an old interior spring that sags and is long past allowing a good night’s sleep. If, like us, you are tempted to reduce wine and fruit purchases since the host tells you the there will be courtesy fruit and an honesty wine selection … do not. There were only two-and-a-half bottles of red wine and three oranges! A suggestion … a note with directions (rubbish bags, TV, etc) and suggestions for local attractions and walks would make a big difference to the feel of welcome.

It's a remote location so it's very peaceful.

Unacceptable: the main bathroom lavatory did not flush. Very dubious: the second bedroom was locked so we could not use it. We booked the house, not the bedroom. Bad: there was no sign to identify the house. All we had to go on was the guidance from the local bar which was vague and could have referred to any of six or seven houses. Unappealing: the house felt cold.
