Rose Cottage: Delightful 4 bedroom detached home

Lovely quaint cottage within walking distance of Portrush

The bathroom, especially the shower. Stuck together with tap and door fell off when our young granddaughter was using it. She wouldn't use it again. The sofa cushions do not fit and it meant that we kept falling through them when we sat on it.

Fabulous location and such a cosy lovely house. Very relaxing stay and everything there that you could need.

Cottage was gorgeous on arrival but level of cleaning was really poor. My daughter has asthma and coughed continually because of dust. Lots of dust and cobwebs etc in sitting room and above all pictures. Picture in kitchen above cooker full of grease. All pictures full of dust and deep clean really needed. Mattress in bedroom stained. Real shame because it's such a lovely spot. Also drive into house much too narrow for cars and smell of oil in outside area really really strong. Small attention to details would make this house fab!!! Cleaning not really done properly

I liked the keys being available in a lock box but this needs upgrading. when I arrived to put the code in the previous people had not locked the box and the key was exposed. Anybody could have accessed the property. The whole cottage had a great family feel and you instantly felt calm and relaxed. A great sized bathroom. The heating system was fabulous always hot water and warm rooms.

The front bedroom windows need an upgrade, soundproofing definitely required. This was by far the noisiest room in the house. it was a lot at 3am when neighbours who had been out came home talking and shouting. There were too many extension leads in the living room and the upstairs back bedroom. I felt these were not only a tripping hazard but a potential fire hazard too, they heated up! The Wifi didn't work consistently to operate the smart tv so that was annoying in the evening. I also felt that the furniture was just too big for the size of the room. It would be a good idea to advertise the DVD player because had we known about this we could have brought movies to watch.

No faults at all

Great location, only 5 min drive to town centre. Spacious accommodation, lovely bright living room, comfortable beds.

Recycling facilities could be improved, with instructions for guests, no compost bags available for the compost bin and only one kitchen bin provided for all other rubbish. We had to use our own bag for blue bin rubbish. User instructions for the oven/grill would have helped, had some difficulty getting these to heat up sufficiently. Front bedroom window difficult to close properly which made the street traffic and wind very audible when trying to sleep.
