Blue54 - Pozzillo sul mare fra l'Etna e Taormina

It was wonderful we arrived a bit late - but the owner Sergio was waiting for us! He explained everything to us, showed us everything, even the mini-market in the house net to the neighboring house! There we could buy a really fresh bread in the morning!

Everything was ok.

We were in blue54 5 years ago, when it had just been renovated, and the surprise was: it still felt as it was renovated yesterday and the apartment is nicely decorated and has great pieces of ceramics along with (well known ;-) IKEA equipment. So, the house is in a mint condition, everhthing is there for cooking (including an oven and a microwave), and you have at least three choices where to eat: in the large living room at the table, on the lower terrace or on the upper terrace with view of the ocean between the roofs. One sleeps on the ground level in two bedrooms (with a courtyard which has an outside shower - very nice !) and also, it is a bit cooler on this floor (Sicily is hot most of the year...) There is a small grocery store (very Italian) four houses away which has fresh cornettos and bread in the morning (and even everything else one needs for breakfast). For getting around, to the beaches and to spuermarkets or cities (Achireale, Catania, Taormina) one needs a car - but the drive is not longer than 30-45 min (even to Taormina). The house is quiet, you can hear mostly the waves from the sea which is really close by ( for a quick refereshing bath it takes just three minutes wolking - you can go in swimsuits... Sergio, the host is very friendly and helpful and speaks English very well. We certainly will be back !

One needs to be comfortable driving on very narrow roads, and also coping with high temperatures - but this is not specific to the house, more to this part of Sicily. I actually cannot think of anything missing or negative...
