What an amazing stay we had at mama and papa Valen's place. Apart from the wonderful and beautiful location, they made our stay even so much better with their hospitality and kindness. You have the tongkonan (one room) to yourself including a very nice bathroom with hot water. We enjoyed listening to papa Valen play they guitar in the evening and all the sounds coming from the jungle. If you want an authentic stay away from the busy part, this is the right place.

Beautifull place!! Very quiet area but still a realy good location! Would 100% recommend! The host is also realy lovely😁

Beautiful location and house. The family is super nice.

The road to the property is very bad, and you the owner cannot cook every night for you, so if you are not comfortable driving the scooter, I'm not sure how to get food.

Nos encantó dormir en una casa tradicional, los dueños son encantadores y nos invitaron a pasar con ellos la noche de fin de año. Las habitacion y el baño impolutos. La comida es estupenda. Ademas nos dejaron hacer el check in cuabdo llegó nuestro autobús a las 5 de la mañana

Esta un poco alejado del pueblo, aunque lo agradecimos puesto que es un sitio muy muy ruidoso.

We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for accommodation in Toraja. It's a clean, traditional Torajan house with a spacious yard and clean bathroom, and it's close to downtown Rantepao. Mama Valen and Uncle Rudi are very kind, and our children loved playing with their children. We'll be back if we get the chance.
