Casa do Pomar

Clean, spacious house with well equipped kitchen. Private garden and interesting location.

Unfortunately the property is located right next to large kennels. The dogs are really loud and don't seem to be very happy. For animal loving people, it doesn't encourage relaxation. Also, even though the location has its positive aspects (a beautiful national park), it is rather far away from civilization and one has to drive, for about 10 minutes, on unpaved roads.

Location in the park was beautiful. Lovely walking area. The house was basic, but the beds were comfortable.

Firstly, the host forgot to send us the correct directions, and we drove round and round using Google Maps trying to enter the park. Secondly, although she had told us we could enter the house at 2pm she forgot to send us the key code and we were hanging around the house until she sent it to us at 5pm. The dog noise from the kennels next door was excessive, althouigh to be fair, we had been warned about this beforehand. After booking, the owner then charged us 60 euros for our dog, which is the most I have ever paid for a dog, and this should have been published beforehand, not after our booking, for reasons of transparency. Casa de Pomar is supposedly ecological, we had seperate rubbish for recycling, which we agree with. However, on the first morning, the apple orchard in front of the house was sprayed by a tractor with clouds of horrid smelling chemicals, and on the second day men were spraying weeds behind the house wearing masks, again not pleasant. We felt as if we were in the middle of an annual spraying event, which made us eager to leave the property rather than stay, as it smelt bad

The location was amazing, the house was clean and it was very comfortable. There was air conditioning. The host was very helpful in terms of communication.

There was no TV. There was a lot of dog barking, didn’t really affect us but could be a hassle for others.

House is very comfortable, clean and spacious. Lovely environment in the middle of Sesimbra Natura Park. Maria, the owner is very nice and helpful.

Noise from barking dogs. Getting in the house is not straight forward because Google maps are giving the bad instructions.

Place is beautiful, but a bif hard to find. The beds were comfortable, nice decoration, there are some animals around and the kids liked a lot.

There's a dog kennel beside the property, there are many dogs and they make a lot of noise, but as we stayed just one night it was ok.

We really liked the location, in the middle of a nature reserve. The children loved to have animals around and I enjoyed the silence and the smell of orange blossom, jasmin and rosemary. The house was cozy and comfortable.
