The Dales

The location of this snug little cottage, situated in the market town of Stanhope, is ideal for walking in Weardale and only a 30 minute drive over to Teesdale. Local shops and other amenities are just a couple of minutes away. Tastefully decorated, the cottage is perfect for a family group and has a cosy sitting room, good facilities in the kitchen and an excellent shower room. Tasty fish and chips from nearby takeaway (Freddie’s) although local pub meal was not so good!

Hard to think of anything - but a reading lamp in the sitting room would be a bonus and we couldn’t find a brush and dustpan! The galley kitchen/diner might be a tight squeeze if six people all sat down for a meal together but it is bright and cheery and well equipped with everything you need!

Communication with host was very quick and easy. Access was via a lock box, which was easy too. Location: just off High Street - great for lovely shops, Stanhope Weekender festival and walks with the dog. Property was well equipped for our stay.

The main bed was a little too firm, but that is personal preference and it was OK for 3 nights.
