Bruce's Cottage

Great place to stay with a family, clean and comfortable with a good working kitchen.

Everything! What a superb accommodation for a mother, adult son, daughter & husband. Main bedroom had main bathroom, with bath, other 2 bedrooms were en suite, such comfort for all. Great location next to pub with friendly staff and excellent meals. TV in lounge and in all bedrooms, we regretted we only had one night there, thoroughly recommend it and would definitely book again.

The weather! Would have been good to be told when booking that Bruce's cottage is in the grounds of the King Robert Hotel would have been a lot easier to find but when found, was outstanding.

Hotel staff were friendly and helpful, provided an excellent welcome and immediately on hand for any help needed. Beautiful location exactly as expected, situated on the Battlefields of Bannockburn - Stirling close by and many local attractions close by to explore such as the Falkirk Wheel, Kelpies and Wallace Monument - perfect for our two night to visit as well at the National Trust for Scotland Heritage Centre where the Battle of Bannockburn experience is highly recommended. Accommodation spacious with three bathrooms and full kitchen service plus 4 TVs for our family of 6 adults and border collie, private garden area and the expansive beautiful grounds of Bannockburn to explore made for a great early morning and early evening walk with our dog. The website photos certainly live up to our experience and more.

Sadly one of the ensuite showers temperature controls was broken (stuck on hot) but this was promptly attended to when we reported, along with when the toaster that malfunctioned and fused an electrical circuit. Within minutes of reporting to Reception a maintenance worker arrived on property, replaced the toaster and was on to sorting our the shower. So rest assured in the unlikely event of a problem occurring staff were super efficient in resolving.

The cottage was so clean and comfortable. Bed mattresses and comforters felt new. Despite being surrounded by the hotel, it felt private and cozy. Restaurant was very convenient and we were able to get a reservation within 90 minutes. Tasty food. Everyone was friendly.

Everything was very good, nothing to complain about. I already knew from other reviews that the cottage was hidden behind the hotel and near a dumpster so I was prepared for this and it didn’t bother us.
