Charming house in the heart of Valletta CPAC1-3

The proximity to a local cafe across the street was amazing for daily breakfasts; good coffee if the machine is working! The room was clean, and it was comfortable to come home to after a day of sightseeing in the summer heat. Entry was easy with a key opening the door.

The absorbently high deposit was quite excessive for such a small flat, and having a detailed inventory of the whole apartment was a little off-putting. Lots of reviews speak about the noisy street, not really the fault of anybody, but we did struggle to get to sleep when the local bars did not adhere to the 11pm noise curfews. The bed too was a bit uncomfortable, but not the worst. One of our days in Valetta, we had to leave the key behind as the owner was having a contractor come into the flat for an inspection. We were not too happy about this as we felt like we had to take all our valuables and passports with us into the city. This felt like a very relaxed security policy, and we did not know who had been in the flat while we were out.

The Location probably, the Unit itself was great.

The Bed, its not comfortable, they should change the Bed.

Very efficient communication with the hosts, who were careful to send all necessary information prior to our arrival. Also, they were very responsive during our stay. There are QR codes all over the apartment, for all appliances, the apartment is well-equipped with washing machine, microwave, AC unit, iron, hair dryer, etc. It was fairly clean and well kept, plus it has a certain charm to it. Not very big, but enough space for the two of us. The place is within walking distance of all restaurants and shops.

Although located conveniently close to the places of interest, the street was noisy. There is pretty much traffic starting early in the morning, and the windows don't help at all with soundproofing. Plus, the workers just next door showed little to no courtesy, starting even before 7 a.m. The pub just across the narrow street was quite noisy at night, but the cheerful atmosphere made up for the inconvenience.

Saved by the location Washing machine

Items promised not present - coffee machine and cups. Missing from the kitchen was a bread knife. All mentioned to host, but only two cups arrived , nothing else. Furnishings are very tired with an old bed that needs replacing and broken chair (not replaced). The noise from local bars restaurants went on into early hours. Loud esp the music and late night early hour closing.Then at 3am there were bottle collections. The street outside is noisy as it is a main street. There is no chance of a lie in. Unfortunately, renovation works next door meant drills and hammering from 0600am until late at night, even over the weekend. Shame really as is has a lot of potential.

Location couldn't be better, walkable to anywhere in Valletta. Accommodation has lots of character and was good value for money.Lots of communication prior to arriving. Don't be put off by reviews of street noise, the location more than makes up for it.

We did find the rule book and itemised breakage cost of every item in the apartment, cleaning costs of sofa, sheets etc a little off putting! As everyone else mentions you will hear street noise. Usually expect shower gel and shampoo to be provided so didn't bring any and had to buy. A bread knife would be a great addition to the cutlery.
