Nicely appointed, lovely location

The mattress in the double room really could do with being replaced with something a bit thicker and firmer. Could feel all the springs and also through to the base.

The property is very good, clean and with good facilities; nice kitchen, lounge and dining areas. The lower bedroom was cold on arrival, but soon warmed up when the heating control temperature was increased. It's a nice place to stay in an excellent location with a good pub (The Royal Oak) within staggering distance.

The upstairs shower room in Thor's Barn needs attention. If the shower screen is not angled into the bath area, water spills onto the floor. The tiled floor needs re-grouting and re-sealing as there is evidence of water staining on the ceiling of the dinning room below. This has been mentioned several times in the visitor's book at the property already.

Loved the cottage the moment we entered, we arrived in March and brought with us gale force winds and snow, but the cottage was warm and inviting, large room but snug, Came for a few quiet days and this place was perfect . lots to do and see as we enjoy walking and everything was so near , didn't matter that the weather was bad as we always came back to a warm place without using the log fire. Baily our Beagle loved it and settled in right away. everything is provided . we plan to return in the Autumn/ but would highly recommend.

As the weather was bad we would recommend a waterpipe outside to wash the dog

Cleanliness and location

Toilets not working well. Communications were limiting too. Booking.com was worrying because of the scam emails and texts. Mould on ceiling and wall not great

Beautiful cottage in wonderful area..well equipped and big kit hen diner made a brilliant space when a few cottages booked
