Fantastic location, narrow road so go careful if you're not used country lanes. Amazing view, lovely sitting out in the evening sun.

We arrived late after a long drive from Scotland. Luckily we had bought milk and a couple of teabags with us, there was nothing in the cottage, which we thought was quite unusual. There are shops not too far away in Ashbourne to stock up though.

The Pigsty was very comfortable and clean and had everything we needed. The views are amazing and it is in a very quiet village. We enjoyed the peaceful environment and watching the bees and butterflies on the meadow. We found some local walks you could do from the property and can recommend the Dalton Dairy cafe in Wootton.

A very pristine pigsty indeed!! Spotlessly clean and equipped with everything you would ever need. The views from the property were breathtaking and it was a pleasure to meet Sue. We enjoyed some lovely walks and a cycling trip in the area plus some delicious meals in local restaurants.

Our satnav sent us up some hairily narrow roads so - big tip - if you see the word “lane” on a route ….. find a road instead. It’s worth going a few extra miles to avoid meeting a Tesco van on a narrow hairpin bend at dusk!!!

Lovely view for miles around very clean and warm with the log burner very friendly owners will be staying again.
