"It was an awesome, comfortable and memorable stay"

10.0

Value for money, facilities, very cozy, clean, EV charger on site, well equipped kitchen, tv with streaming options, the view♥️, very well guided via the blog and the page on the kitchen table when we entered.

We couldn’t operate the vacuum cleaner to clean up the living room/dining room floor when we wanted to and the books were great but there also need to be age appropriate toys for kids, our 4.5 year old got very bored while he was in the cottage. And I am sure that these 2 downsides can be fixed very easily when somebody informs they are coming with a kid/kids.

"Elderberry Cottage is superbly located and made an ideal base for exploring the many wonderful spots nearby."

10.0

Arriving after dark with just 20% battery left, finding the warm and inviting Elderberry Cottage—complete with its own EV charger—was an ideal start to the trip. Dinner that evening was at the friendly Wellington, where we were grateful to be seated just after 8:30pm, having been turned away by several other spots in the village. Tip: book ahead or aim for an earlier time to avoid disappointment. The next morning, we drove a quick eight minutes to the Boscastle Farm Shop for a relaxed and satisfying breakfast. We spent the rainy afternoon unwinding at the cottage before making the 40-minute drive to Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant for dinner. The food was excellent and the service spot-on, though the journey back proved a little nerve-racking in the rain and fog. We were finally greeted by sunshine on our third morning and made straight for the magical Tintagel Castle. From the sweeping coastal views and dramatic ruins to the striking Gallos statue, the breathtaking bridge, and the mystique of Merlin’s Cave—said to be the birthplace of King Arthur—everything felt unforgettable. The only slight downside? The tickets are a bit on the pricey side. We enjoyed a relaxed lunch at the Riverside before taking a leisurely stroll down to the picturesque Boscastle Harbour. In short, Elderberry Cottage is superbly located and made an ideal base for exploring the many wonderful spots nearby.
