We were looking for a comfortable but rural stay and this is what we found. We enjoyed hearing the sheep in the morning. Having the chance to feed and pat them was great for our boys. Drum manor forest park was so close and the perfect place to unwind.

This property was all you could wish for - a home from home. The welcome pack on arrival had tea, coffee, milk and sugar as well as salt and pepper, oil and cookies. First impressions of the property were of quality; the fixtures and fittings were of a very high standard. The kitchen was very well equipped. The house was spotlessly clean, the beds were extremely comfortable with good pillows, and having an electric blanket was very welcome. The heating is set to come on at good times so we never felt cold. The caring, friendly hosts kept us informed and were very helpful when we couldn’t get the TV working, coming over at 9p.m. to sort it out (we’re rubbish with technical stuff). Highly recommended; we would definitely choose this property if we were ever staying in this area again.

"Our stay was just lovely. Thank you so much."

10.0

Every detail was perfect. The hosts had thought of everything and made sure that anything we might have forgotten or been unable to transport on a plane was catered for. We were very comfortable and felt able to relax in the spacious rooms which were spotlessly clean. Pauline and Alistair were most generous. We loved the welcome box and appreciated the extra bits in the cupboards and fridge. My son and grandson enjoyed the extra TV channels and I delighted at having a warm bed to climb into. We have family close by and will definitely come and use the house as our base again. This house would be a fabulous place to stay either in the depths of the winter or in the heat of summer - every season is catered for.

There's nothing negative to say about this place at all.

"Excellent hosts of a big , cosy & quiet house."

9.0

This is a big house with plenty of onsite parking and is spotlessly clean. The house is about 3 miles to the centre of Cookstown but very easy to drive in for restaurants etc. The hosts are just the best and extremely helpful. When we asked about doing the usual bin emptying etc on exiting we were told that we shouldn't have to do anything as we are on holidays. How refreshing... but we emptied the bins etc, anyway. Heating is timer controlled and very easy to modify based on our usage of the house. Internet is reliable and relatively fast (fast enough for streaming) and average for NI. Two lounge rooms meant that I could watch what I wanted on TV (vs my wife's choices :-)). The house appliances are excellent and in good order.

The house has only one shower over a bath so if the house is full (and it is a big house) then a second bathroom may be required. Personally I hate Power Showers (or as I call them Powerless Showers) as you have to run around in the shower to get wet. Since many places we looked at also have powerless showers this may not be an issue for the British. We also prefer King Beds vs the Queen beds in this house but this is also a matter of preference. The kitchen could also use a pair of tongues and a proper sized ironing board.

"Having had numerous cottage holidays this is the only one we would return to, it was that good."

Craigs Rock Cottage is a 5 star property. A well maintained and comfortable home from home. One of the best properties we have ever stayed in with all the amenities you would need.

There was nothing we didn't like.
