No beach in walk disstance

Lots of building work on properties nearby. Too noisy to use the terrace but probably okay by the summer

Giovanni and his sister welcomed us in the most friendly and warm way, showed us around and gave great tips, like places to visit, market and how to order groceries (as the supermarket is not very close, this was a life saving one). The house was super clean, spacious for our family of four, the kitchen was lovely and the roof terrace views amazing. We chose this location also because it is close to the small rocky beach (swimming shoes are obligatory): the sea is clear and good for kids who are good swimmers to play in, and earlier in the morning and weekdays you have the beach almost to yourself. Ortigia is a good 20 minutes walk, which in the hot summer months is not nothing for someone, but the good thing there is that on your way back you can catch a city bus line 105 from Ponte Umbertino and be home with bags full from the market in just 3 minutes - 3 short stops (It’s a circular line, so it doesn’t take you to ortigia im 3 minutes). Close to the house, at Santa Lucia square there is a Sunday market and a small but nice local bakery. We’d love to come back here any time!

Excellent location (1 minute to the sea), very comfortable apartment with large terrace fully furnished with two umbrellas, table and outdoor furniture. Also 5 minutes from a park and cafe bars, fish store, fruit and vegetables, etc. Good kitchen and comfortable bed. Also Giovanni is the ideal host.

Lovely place to stay 15 minute walk from Ortiga, you also pass a fabulous ice-cream parlour on the way. It is as shown on info, wonderful rooftop terrace with view of the ocean.

Parking was sometimes an issue, having to leave the car 500m away on same street, this was most problematic when trying to load the car to leave with no nearby parking available. You can't stop outside for even a minute if no spaces are free.
