Applewood Heights

Location was breathtaking

This house was beautiful. Finished to a high standard and set in the most beautiful location. This is a special find. Each bedroom is enuite with separate large bathroom. Every bed was comfortable with high quality quilts and pillows. The rooms ranged from a double bed to a room with a double and three singles. Large living room area which was laid out for capacity. With chairs around the outside of the room. Perfect. Really nice touch with the open fire. It was set and ready to light with two massive baskets of logs. TV had a free view box and the Internet was really good. The house heated up really well and held its heat surprisingly well for such a big house. There was a dining room but we didn't use it. Facilities were excellent and the house had the feel of a really really high quality boutique hotel. This quality and freedom doesn't come from a chain hotel. There was history oozing from this property and it was clearly such a happy family home. This was one of the most special finds I've made in my travels. Contact with the host was perfect and the special touches of a large basket of fruit. This is a jewel of a find. I am so thankful to my host and the location being so perfect, I couldn't have wanted for more.

A consideration for those with a mobility issue there are no downstairs toilet. But go read the positive above. Balance this out. This is an awesome spot steeped in history amd filled with a history of family.

The location was very close to the nature reserve and the costal route beaches ( 4-5 mins drive ) with lots of waterfalls from the surrounding Mountains a fabulous view !

Internet connection was patchy and slow at times.

This is the second time we have stayed at Applewood Heights. It has everything we need and we really enjoy it.

Owner is very accommodating, making sure that everything is ok and can talk and call anytime . Near the beach . The place is very comfortable and spotless and spacious. My family and friends are planning to go back

location and size

issues with the heating and the shower in one of the rooms ( green one ) didn’t warm up

Lovely place in a great location and good facilities. Host was helpful and place was in a great condition. Very big property but still felt homey. Loads of space and privacy.
