"A perfect place to unwind, relax and explore from."

The view was amazing, the area was really quiet. It's the complete opposite of the other side of the island. Very little tourism, we ate at 2 restaurants in the close vicinity of the house and both were occupied by at least 90% locals when we came in. The house itself and it's interior is wonderfully designed in the country house style, done really well (i fell in love with the patio furniture) with great eye for detail, while still offering the luxuries from home and more. The bed was good too. We slept like babies every night. The kitchen is simply a dream. More space than i possibly know what to do with. With both induction and gas stove options, an oven, dishwasher and every kitchen appliance we have at home. The host Suyin is really nice and easy to reach, she baked us a cake when we came in, which was delicious! She doesn't speak english, but she brought her english speaking friend to translate when she showed us around the house. So no troubles there. The area itself is beautifull, and the locals really friendly, there's a little grocery store at a 10 min walk which covers all your basic needs. Garachico is basically right down the slope from the house, but still a bit of a hike, since it's a pretty rough rocky path which leads down from san juan del reparo. We personally loved going down and back up, but it won't be for everyone i guess. Otherwise it's easily reached by car. Other than that there's countless of hikes you can either reach by foot, car or bus. I recommend you do. The area is amazing. Oh and a special shoutout to restaurant monteverde just down the street, to be fair, it doesn't look like much. But the food is great with big portions for more than very reasonable prices. And the ladies who work there were so friendly. Be sure to grab a bite. I loved their paella.

We figured it would in advance, but the public transport was a bit of a hassle. Neither of us has a licence, so we had to make due anyway. We enjoy staying in remote areas, so i guess it can't be helped. Not saying you shouldn't visit this house if you don't drive, but be sure to dive into the public transport system beforehand, it will save you some unnecessary stress. The busses drive every 2 hours or so during the day and don't take the timetable too seriously. We didn't do a single trip without the bus being at least 10 minutes late. The lines which do drive there have a great reach over the island so they offer countless possibilities regarding hikes or city trips or whatsoever.
