Castletown Gate House

Fabulous position. It is only 5 minutes walk from the centre of Celbridge and only a beautiful 10 minute walk from Castletown House and grounds. The gatehouse is historic and furnished accordingly. Very comfortable and has all modern amenities meaning longer stays would be easy. Modern WiFi, central heating as well as an open fire, dishwasher and washing machine. It was also easy to make contact with the house manager regarding entry and exit. The property is very clean and well equipped.

Nothing. But I would point out that there is a curved staircase which might not be suitable for a disabled person.

Very comfortable place.. location is best in town being right by restaurants and bars but just off busy high street. Really cosy feeling to the place. Great walk on your doorstep around the park.

As no tv a better WiFi connection would not go a miss.

Location next to Castletown estate with very pretty walks the Celbridge main street with everything you need (lots of places for a drink!) was great. We got the bus into Dublin for a gig, took about 50 mins and ran very regularly. The house itself was very pretty, perfect size for 3 people, clean, comfortable and really nicely decorated. The bathroom is on the ground floor but that wasn't a problem for us at all. House manager was just a phone call away if we needed anything which was very convenient.

Very busy and a lot of footfall passing directly outside the house including people stopping to look and talk about the building. Very obvious why as its a beautiful historic building but might not be for everyone! Would have been useful to have been given the code for the lockbox before arrival as we did end up waiting outside to meet the house manager for a while. It was lovely to be shown around the house by someone, but would have been nice to wait inside.

Location, historic feel, authenticity, warm, easy walk to shops, restaurants and pubs.

No TV, no toilet paper, no bread knife,

House was in a great location.

Beds very comfy.location good.Garden mostly fenced.everything we needed was available in kitchen.

One bathroom.none upstairs was inconvenient.unfortunate that i had to complete fence to prevent dogs from getting out.i had to purchase materials to do so.no option given to checkout late.

Location is perfectly placed for dog walks & meeting locals. Kitchen very well equipped. Plenty of towels.

Gap in garden gate: dogs could easily escape so had put a blue bin laid on side to block it. Plenty of cobwebs around windows. Only enough firewood for 1 night, could have done with more. We decided not to ask for more as it was a Bank Holiday weekend.
