Dar Al Hayat

The experience at Ali's riad was amazing. We were welcomed in the best way with a delicious green tea and he immediately took care to explain everything we needed to know about Marrakech (places to visit, traditional and non-traditional restaurants, etc.) The riad is fabulous, there were 9 of us and the rooms (for 2/3 people each) were spacious and clean, all equipped with air conditioning. We were lucky enough to also eat a couple of delicious traditional Moroccan dinners and breakfasts at the riad, lovingly prepared by Ali's sister. My advice: if you plan to visit Marrakech this Riad is the place for you!

Ali was an amazing host - this is an excellent Riad near the center of town and cannot recommend it more as Ali will make sure you are taken care of!!

Dar Al Hayat is a home away from home due to Ali and Jeanette's overwhelming sense of care, kindness, and passion that they have dedicated into making the riad a truly wonderful experience of what Morocco has to give. The riad has been beautifully renovated with it keeping in tradition through the stunning decor, layout of the rooms (very convenient to have two bedrooms on the ground floor for easy accessibility), and the green oasis which was the highlight for us in the courtyard. In addition, Ali's young sister spoilt us with delicious dinner upon arrival, and the continental breakfast which was simply divine and celebrated Moroccan cuisine (e.g. the Moroccan pancakes are a must to try!). In addition, the riad was a quiet haven which complimented very well to the bustling of the main street (although less than a minute's walk away, could not be heard from inside the riad!). What made our experience even more worthwhile was the immensely heart-warming generosity that we received not only from the wonderful Louaya family but, the local residents, passerbys, and strangers who were always willing to help without having to ask! The key attractions are on average 15-minute walk (5-8 minute drive by taxi which was easy to book) which was always a delight to undertake since you are able to take in the great hospitality, uncover treasure troves (souks), have spontaneous talks which gave you a richer understanding of the place, and locate delicious eateries for your next feast. As our first trip to Marrakech, we cannot recommend Dar Al Hayat enough for giving us an authentic insight into what Morocco is... a place of life, love, and laughter!
