Villa Kepuh

I was intrigued about home in the mountains setup, away from crazy crowds in south. However I was extremely disappointed with everything about this place - it didnt live up to any reputation put up on reviews - its almost as if the reviews are fake and bought

The property nor the owner did not mention that the room was fully open and had no windows so we were covered in mosquitos bites. The dining area smelt of rats piss at one end. The darts and billiard were in the same end of the room and anything that fell off was difficult to search as touching anything felt like a hazard due to the rats piss smell. The room floor was stained with shit of lizards and did not seem to be ever wet wiped and felt dirty to walk on. There were dogs and cats which were on the kitchen counter where food was prepared and our food had few dog hairs in it. The towel smelt very bad. The bedding smelt strongly of mildew. The dinner is open till 20:00 which is very inconvenient considering there are no restaurants beyond a 30 minute drive - keep in mind the roads are very narrow and 30 degree sloping. There was garbage piled inside the property which had flies around it. Close to nature does not mean lack of hygiene! This place should be shut down for lack of hygiene reasons.

Awesome place to stay and have some rest. It's in the middle of nowhere (thanks god!) so there are no other noises than a jungle.. (really good concert) I arrived after heavy rains, but I had all comfort here (hot shower, more towels, tea in the room..) Owners are super friendly. There is also restaurant with delicious food. Thank you so much !!

It is perfect if your plan is to get away from the craziness of South Bali or even Ubud. There is a cafe that can cater to your basic food needs. The manager Iluh is a real gem, and the people who built this place - Barbara and Dave are absolutely wonderful people - perfect hosts!

Nothing really, except that it did seem a bit strange to find out right at the very end that our free breakfast at the cafe (run by a local lady) was only limited to Rp100k. This was not explained upon arrival or when we were ordering breakfast. So we had to pay the difference, which wasn’t really that much. We are just mentioning it here so that there’ll be no surprise to other guests.

Villa Kepuh is the best getaway from busy Bali and provides an absolutely fantastic place to relax and enjoy your holiday. The owners Barb and Dave are very friendly, helpful and kind and from the second I stepped a foot in the place it felt like home (even though the surroundings are a lot prettier here than at home). The food is amazing and they provide massages for a small price too. The place I booked was my own little cabin that looked out over the jungle and the sea in the distance. On the porch there were some lovely seats where I could read, make a puzzle and just enjoy the view. The bed is the most comfortable bed I had in Indonesia so far and the cabin comes with a fan and windows you can open. Because it's a little bit on the mountain the temperature (both at day and night) is perfect. I strongly recommend this place for a peaceful stay in Bali. It's a little paradise on earth.

Since the place in on a mountain, there are some steps to the room from the restaurant and to walk the neighbourhood it goes up/down as well. Still very doable.

This place just gets you. It’s a real paradise on earth. The big family house was amazing and so was the cabin for two persons. The magical view if it comes to Mother Nature 🌱 is something we’ll never forget. Barbara and Dave are lovely hosts and the food from the staff was absolutely mint 😋.

Incredible hosts, we got stranded on the coast after dinner since its hard to find a grab driver in this area, i contacted them and they replied quick and picked us up. Their place is a paradise located on a hill, in the middle of a forest. Within a 40min reach of beautiful waterfalls. Ask them for recommendations, they were very helpful! Its a perfect place to recharge and get in touch with nature. When we come back to bali, well visit again. Thanks a lot barb and dave! All the best!

The place is huge with lot of hidden paths to discover, lots of plants and trees, plus the owners’ dogs are extremely playful and are always down to discover the surroundings with you. The beds were comfortable, and the communication with the owners was easy. The restaurant/sisha bar at the facility offered delicious meals prepared by two lovely local ladies. You can play pool there and put your own music on speakers, so you can have fun if you like, and also chill on the veranda of your tiny wooden house when you need peace. It’s very quiet and peaceful, you can only hear the sounds of nature and the animals nearby. I highly recommend this place, it was one of my favourite places to stay in Bali so far. It’s better to arrive with a car or scooter, since the local restaurants/villages are easier to reach that way.
