Bedrooms a bit sparse of furniture and very little by way of paintings/ mirrors on walls of house

Lovely house with great views. Lots of space outside. It was very clean.

It was a bit isolated for us. The kids loved the big garden but there is nothing within walking distance.

Beautiful location, the house is fantastic and a very relaxing place to stay. Both owners are so nice and very helpful + the complimentary scones and jam were delicious 😊 I would fully recommend and we'll most definitely be back.

"A perfect place to chill and recharge the batteries...."

The property and its owners are outstanding. During a five night stay as a family group we couldn't have been in a better location or received better hospitality. From Helen meeting us on arrival, giving us "the tour" and the welcome pack till we waved goodbye on Sunday morning she was an absolute delight. Located on a hillside overlooking Dromineer, Lough Dergh each evening was spent on the full-width veranda watching the bats flying about as the sun set over the lake and the hills beyond - we even saw some shooting stars! Although in a very quiet location there's a local shop and pubs less than a mile away and everyone was really friendly. The accommodation itself easily coped with seven adults and a baby. There is an en-suite double bedroom on the ground floor which would be useful for anyone with mobility issues. There is always a shady spot to be found in the garden throughout the day.

The only improvement needed is to the Booking.com listing which says there is no parking available. In reality several cars could be comfortably parked at the property. Other than that we found Barr An Chnoic to be idyllic.

Location and views far beyond photo online, but not easy to find. However since it was best stay in Ireland worth it! Hosts were charming--delicious scones welcomed us! Sheep in the meadow, cows across the street! Views of Lough Derg in distance from front! Local nightlife wonderful and easy to get to highways for touring! Highly recommended!
