"Lovely little holiday cottage in cute location would definitely stay there again."

Great location as we were attending a wedding at Mapperton House.

The property was great, had everything we needed although we were hardly there and used it as a base, it was such a good find.

"This not just a holiday rental. It is a Retreat, yet so close to so much out and about if wished for"

Let's start off by saying that we are in our early seventies. That we researched the property carefully. That we were aware of the idiosyncrasies of the property as a result of carefully viewing the advertising photographs. That one of us is tall and the other short! That said we spent several wonderful days at the Sawmill in an atmosphere that was both a delight, private, comfortable, entertaining (if you enjoy being so close to nature). The property is quite rightly described as quirky. One continually finds little touches of the personality that the owners have tucked away in ever nook and cranny of both the property and garden. We both needed a period of respite. Staying at the Sawmill gave us that in bucketful's. The local town is but a few minutes walk away. There is a Baker, a Butchers, a Greengrocer, a supermarket and a range of pubs, bars, restaurants, cafes, takeaways to suit most. History abounds. Walks everywhere.

If tall be wary as you get up into the upper level to go to bed. If unused to steep stairs as found on RN ships face the steps going down and do so slowly and carefully. It can get pretty warm in the bedroom with the heating on after a couple of hours...heat rises!! I suspect that with many opening windows sited but a few feet above the river it would be easy regulate the temperature during the summer. So, to sum up, there was nothing that we actually disliked but simply some aspect of living in an adapted historic workplace should be born in mind and personal fitness, especially flexibility should be carefully considered.
