The apartment is just as advertised. The family is welcoming and fantastic hosts!

The beds are uncomfortable, especially the single beds.

Very clean and tidy, much bigger than the pictures give it credit. Fantastic balcony on both levels, and everything you need for a fabulous holiday. Close to restaurants and supermarkets and the old town. Hosts were on hand for anything we needed. It was also quiet of an evening so sleep wasn’t disturbed. Air con was a blessing too as it got very hot during the day.

There wasn’t anything not to like!!

The property was so comfortable. We felt like we were staying in our own home! The house was very clean and spacious. The owners went above and beyond to make sure our stay was so pleasant. The location is perfect. It is close to the airport and bus station and just a short walk into the old town.

Nothing!

The apartment has plenty of natural light, large perimeter balconies, and a generous amount of space, a major plus for a group of five (three adults and two children). Good location.

Unfortunately, several key issues made our stay uncomfortable. We chose Garitsa Maisonette based on its great location, high reviews (9.5), and especially because it was advertised as having included parking, which, in reality, was not provided. Upon arrival, we were told we couldn’t use the designated space due to a neighbor’s restriction and had to look for street parking instead. We later realized this had been a known issue, yet the listing still claimed parking was available. This should have been clearly disclosed, particularly since parking was essential for us due to my medical condition (herniated disc). The alley leading to the parking area was also extremely narrow, making access very difficult even if it had been usable. On nights when we couldn’t find street parking, we had no choice but to use the restricted area. The mattresses were worn and uncomfortable, the pillows old and unsupportive, and the sofa had visible hair. Several surfaces were dusty and had to be cleaned before use. Most concerning, for four consecutive mornings after 8:30 AM, there was no running water, making the apartment unusable for basic needs like using the toilet or showering. We reported the issue daily, but nothing changed. There was no water tank to assist in such cases, and no warning or updates were given. Only on the fourth day, after I expressed strong frustration, did the hosts bring a few bottles of water and offer a boat trip, which we declined, as the situation had already caused major inconvenience. It felt more like an attempt to secure a good review than a sincere effort to help, especially since the host directly asked us for one. As rental property owners ourselves in Albania, we believe true hospitality means acting promptly and taking responsibility, even for small issues, let alone something as serious as having no water during a summer holiday.

The family was super nice and made us feel very welcomed. Smooth process of using their car rental company too!

Nothing the hosts could have an impact on

Fabulous spacious maisonette, just like the pics. We particularly enjoyed the balconies and watching the birds swooping around early morning.

Not a criticism as the place was great but if you are not familiar with the area it could be tricky to find on arrival day.

How quickly the host responded to questions, even answering the phone late at night when we were lost, the apartment was spacious, a true reflection of the photos, close to town and the sea front, also close to local parks and shopping, the hosts also gave us lots of local knowledge and advice, they also made cake and left wine, coffee, chocolate bunnies for the children and made us feel welcome at all times.

Nothing stood out, everything was either good or excellent.
