Lovely marina views and sunny balcony

Amazing place! Great location and everything you could think to have in an apartment was there which made it feel very homely and comfortable during our stay

It’s a lovely scenic location next to the marina - the pictures in the listing are quite accurate. There’s a very scenic walk by the lake nearby. The balcony was very nice to sit during sunny days. The apartment was 10 mins away (by taxi) from the main town which was nice and peaceful during the Christmas/New Year’s rush but can be a slight hassle to commute if you don’t have a car. On the other hand, it was close to the airport so easy to get-in and leave. Lots of small amenities were thoughtfully provided - coffee, tea, sugar, salt and pepper, basic cooking utensils and condiments. Lots of kitchen cutlery. Lots of appliances like toaster, microwave, kettle. Washing machine/dryer provided along with washing powder. Lots of board games were also kept in a cabinet for a rainy day.

We were quite happy with our stay and didn’t have a lot of complaints. But some small inconveniences we noticed included: The path to the apartment door is quite narrow and up the stairs - it’s a slight hassle to carry big suitcases through that. The bedrooms could use blackout shades - the apartment gets very bright and sunny. In the bathroom, the sink tap was tight and water came out with a lot of force - my kids splashed themselves more than once. The bathroom mirror was to the side of the sink (not in front) which was a bit inconvenient while shaving. However, these were minor issues. We were very happy with our overall stay.

Dirty cups in drawer. Fat/oil dripping from extractor fan above stove. Very creaky floor. Driveway very very steep.

Miss leading advertising, searched for a whole individual property. However the property is a town house sort of complex, the downstairs accommodation shares the same driveway so we had to contend for the driveway (which by the way was the steepest driveway in New Zealand possibly) The road parking is available however I do not feel safe with my belongings in the car whilst travelling etc. The main door of the house is not to be used as it interferes with the downstairs accommodation separate to yours. The floors/walls are paper thin so any music or tv I’m sure you’ll hear it like we did (the neighbors downstairs were not loud) you instead had to use the side entrance which is up a long flight of stairs (narrow) which is a huge inconvenience to bring luggage up and down. Overall the house was advertised as newly / fully renovated however this is definitely not the case. I paid the same money as I did last year with a 5 star hotel and I know where I’d be going next time. Just felt instead of being greedy and making a very reason air bnb they instead made it two very below average money grabs. This accommodation was definitely the let down of our trip.

Stunning views. Spacious, clean and excellent amenities. Good location as we had a hire car.
