Beggar's Lane Cottage

Nick & Dotty were very welcoming and friendly, handing over and returning of the cottage keys was a pleasure. The cottage itself is charming, with a lovely small courtyard area out the back. The beds were super-comfy with a great view of Winchester Cathedral.

Not a complaint just an unusual observation! The taps! I've never seen taps that turn on left to right! Only ever right to left! Maybe that's just me! ;)

Lovely period cottage with a quirky style. Gorgeous little space Kitchen cute and clean and courtyard an added bonus for the sunshine yhat kept popping out.

Shower wasn’t that great and bathroom could do with an upgrade but served its purpose. I was tempted to rearrange the furniture in the living space.

Die Lage etwas oberhalb des Zentrums, das aber nur 5 Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar ist, ist nicht nur sehr schön, sondern auch sehr praktisch. Das uralte Cottage ist gemütlich und geschmackvoll eingerichtet, die Küche modern ausgestattet. Eine Grundausstattung mit Kaffee, Tee, Milch, Zucker, Gewürzen, Essig und Öl steht bereit. Nick hat uns sehr herzlich begrüßt, uns alles gezeigt und netterweise einen Parkausweis für uns gebucht. Der Innenhof ist ruhig und sonnig. Für ein paar Übernachtungen zu viert fanden wir das Cottage gut.

Das Badezimmer könnte eine Auffrischung und gründliche Reinigung dringend gebrauchen, ebenso das eine oder andere Vintagemöbel und der Teppich im Wohnzimmer. Wir haben außerdem ein Brotmesser vermisst. ;-)

The cottage was absolutely charming with beautiful views across Winchester to the cathedral. After 10 days in a hotel in London it was handy to be able to do some washing too.

There wasn’t really anything although the amount of steps were a little challenging for my dodgy knee. The beds & pillows were a little soft but this is a personal taste.

De ligging van het huisje.

Het huisje was niet gepoetst, er waren overal stofdraden en spinnenwebben. De badkamer is aan een renovatie toe, Bij het afwassen in de keuken kwam het afvalwater in het bad te staan, en trok daarna wel weg, maar dat is gewoon onhygiënisch. De matras van het grote bed is ook toe aan vervanging. Op de website staat dat er koffie en thee is, wij hebben enkel een lege pot gevonden....

The perfect location for exploring Winchester combined with the most comfortable bed made this cottage a wonderful and relaxing place to stay.

It needs a little bit of updating, a little dusty perhaps and a refresh.
