The hosts communication all the important things ahead of time and I found everything as they had described. The kitchen facilities were great, and I found everything I needed to cook from scratch each night (or reheat leftovers). The bedrooms all had blackout curtains, the shower was excellent and the local supermarket was first rate (it's even open on a Sunday, quite unusual in the Outer Hebrides!).

The Wi-Fi could be a bit spotty and I wasn't convinced I would have been able to connect to a video meeting (but I didn't try this).

It was in an excellent location for touring the southern isles.

Excellent location, close to everything you need, The house is well maintained. Like others have said, it's a home away from home.

Great house im a really good location. Near the shops, bakery, airport and beach. Well situated to explore the islands. There's a play park next door too for the little ones.

I never managed to successfully lock the door. Maybe it was just me but I could never get it to work. Not really an issue in the Hebrides though.

Every thing that you would need was available. Comfortable and clean with good support from Irene who assists with managing the property.

We loved the holiday home and felt very much at home there. Prior to our trip the hosts were helpful and responsive, they knew that we'd be arriving early (buses) and went to great lengths to get the property ready early for us. The house has a well-equipped kitchen where you can prepare anything from tea and toast to full-cooked meals, a comfortable living room with large TV and great wifi throughout (so useful as we didn't have phone signal throughout the hebrides), downstairs loo, upstairs bathroom with bath and lovely powerful shower, three lovely and tasteful bedrooms with super comfortable beds and nice linens, lovely furniture throughout the house and plenty of storage space for your clothes and things. We both slept like logs there, my fitness watch was amazed at my sleep quality and length!! As has been previously mentioned, the home is on an estate of ex-forces homes (RAF I believe) and having visited Balivanich before we knew exactly what to expect, it isn't 'chocolate-box' but it is clean, comfortable, well-equipped, well-run, quiet and fabulous value for money. The location is really great for touring the Hebrides as you can very easily go north or south, either own transport or by bus (stop very close). Less than a minute walk is a great bakery where you can get hot takeaway breakfast rolls, lunch, cakes, bread, soup and a choice of two well-stocked supermarkets just a couple of minutes away. One has a great coffee machine and the other has a super-wide selection of frozen food including full meals from the local bakery which would only need defrosting and microwaving if you didn't want to cook, or visit the local restaurant (wasn't open every day though) and a Chinese Takeaway. Highly recommend this property!
