We rented a house for our vacation, and while the property itself was nice, the host’s behavior completely ruined our stay. Having traveled extensively across Ireland, I have never encountered such rudeness and unprofessionalism. We paid €760 for the rental, expecting that all basic utilities, including electricity, were included in the price. However, during our stay, the electricity went off, and the host informed us that we were responsible for topping up the electricity meter ourselves. This critical detail was not disclosed beforehand, which is completely unacceptable. To make matters worse, the host accused us of overusing electricity, citing activities like doing laundry, cooking, and using heaters. For a rental of this price, isn’t it reasonable to expect these amenities to be included? Guests should have the freedom to use basic facilities without incurring extra charges or being made to feel guilty. The host’s unpleasant attitude and lack of professionalism caused unnecessary stress and significantly disrupted our vacation. If you’re looking for a peaceful and hassle-free holiday, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
