Mountain View Bliss - Albert Town Holiday Unit

It was cold outside but it didn’t matter because every room had a heater

It was a little bit confusing seeing where to go to get to the actual door which is around the back of the house. When you thought you had the right way the bushes covered up half the path so you weren’t sure if it was the right way. If they could just put a little sign or arrow that would be all it would take.

Well equipped, location, clean.

Wifi instructions were incorrect, wrong password for given wifi. Sent email requesting clarification and late reply. Felt way too many auto emails sent prior to, during and post stay by booking.com and property manager.

Beautiful view, accommodation excellent, very clean and it had everything we needed.

Spacious and comfortable. We had everything we needed to be able to be at ease including a kitchen and separate toilet. The little comforts of blankets on the couch and electric blankets were great to have.

There was salt and pepper shakers but no pepper. We struggled with the wifi esp with the tv. Connectivity was difficult with the extender and dropped out frequently. The shower hose also had a split which meant we had to be careful on how to use it as if it bent a certain way, it didn’t have pressure. Pillows also whilst fluffy fell flat when we slept on them.

It was great to find a kitchen that was well equipped and to find extra blankets. We arrived in the rain so first night was colder than we were prepared for.

Was a little difficult to determine where the unit was & where we should park when we pulled in the driveway. I had to view photos to determine where it would logically be. It wasn’t until we were at main house door that a sign for guests was visible

The bed was the best bed we had the whole trip. The amount of space of the property and the amenities provided, made it comfy and the best place we had stayed.

On arrival the property was dusty and the previous client had written clean me in the dust. The crockery was unclean and there were was hairs in the sauce pans. When we wanted to use the toaster it smoked very badly, we found a large piece of burnt bread that took us quite a while to dislodge from the toaster. Our main contention was there was no hair dryer. We have been in New Zealand for nearly five weeks and this was the first property without an hair dryer. Our other major issue was whilst there was a washer there was no drying facilities, which was very annoying. We also thought that since we were staying for five nights there should have been extra towels or replaced part way through. Also when dark there was a step to the front of the property which was impossible to see since the security light did not cover the area, this was potentially dangerous. However when we first entered the property we were initially delighted with its appearance it appeared to be fitted out to a very high standard it is such a shame that potentially a five star property we could rate no more than two.
