The Baby House @ Wood Quay, Carlingford

Everything needed for self catering supplied though we just had breakfast in as there are many good restaurants within five minutes walk. Spectacular views, the tide comes within a few feet of the house. This can also can be viewed from the mezzanine. Enjoyed the quietness.

I found the mezzanine a challenge. Ladder stairs were a bit straight, steps a bit narrow and ceiling low. I should have made use of the chair bed in the living room but just didn’t think of it until the day of checkout.

Shower and bathroom could have been better and kitchen facilities are very basic

The location of the Baby House is just perfect, & the views from the bay window are just outstanding. It's also dog friendly which is a big plus for us, as we are very limited in Ireland with dog friendly accommodation. Kieran was extremely helpful when we booked the accommodation, & when we arrived the heating was on & the Christmas Tree lights were on, it's just the little touches that made it extra special.

Beautiful view and excellent location as everything was close by. Having the pot belly stove to light was great and made it cosy. The beds were comfortable, including the single sofa bed. Good facilities and private parking beside the house.

Although it was very clear of where the beds were and having to use the ladder, it was one part I didn't like, but it would not put me off going back. If the ladder had been a bit wider, it would have helped also. It would have been nice if there were some drawers/shelves to put clothes on rather than having to keep items that we couldn't hang up in our bag. It would also have been nice to have a sofa to sit/lie on.

The house is right on the harbour so you have amazing views. It's situated right on the main road and the town is just across the road.

I loved the view, it was breathtaking in all weather's, watching the herons sitting on the rocks was great. The house was filled with homely items, the throws were useful at night, when we were tired. The house provided all the crockery that we needed and just loved waking up on the mezzanine to the incredible view every morning.

We were grateful for the chair bed as when my friend had too much to drink it was safer for her to sleep there, so not a problem. 🙄
