The Outpost Joshua Tree: Hot Tub, GameRoom, JTNP

As soon as we stepped through the door, it felt as though we had returned to a place we’d always known a home we’d never left. There was a quiet familiarity in every corner, a warmth that made us feel instantly at ease. Outside, the cactuses stood tall and proud, their silhouettes framed perfectly by the vast windows that surrounded the house. The desert seemed to flow seamlessly into the space, as if the home was built to embrace its surroundings, not separate from them. The magic didn’t stop there. Watching the stars from the hot tub was nothing short of mesmerizing. But my favorite moment was the sunrise, a masterpiece of colors spilling across the horizon, painting the world anew. It was a moment of quiet wonder that will stay with me for a long time. The owners have poured so much love and thought into this home, and it shows. The kitchen, stocked with plenty of spices, invited us to create, and the grill became the heart of two wonderful dinners. There was even coffee waiting for us, a small but thoughtful touch that made mornings feel extra special. Every detail, no matter how small, seemed to say, “Welcome. Stay awhile.” The location was ideal just a short drive from Joshua Tree National Park but honestly, it was hard to leave the peace of the house. The check-in and check-out process was seamless, which only added to the ease of our stay. Liz and Colin, thank you for opening your home to us. It’s more than a place it’s an experience, a memory, a gift. We are so grateful to have been part of it, even for a short while.

The ventilation in both bathrooms could benefit from an upgrade.

The Outpost is absolutely wonderful! The views for breakfast, the cute decor, the jaccuzi with a view, the comfy 3 big beds 🤩 the only thing we regret is not staying longer

There was everything you'd need and more. Beautiful outside and inside. The owners made the atmosphere extremely pleasant.

Very clean, furnished with a personal touch, two excellent coffee makers, hot tub with nice views overlooking the landscape. Quiet.

One bathroom is inconveniently located. One bedroom is actually a multipurpose sun room.

Amazing home with beautiful landscaping and the most perfect outdoor space. The interior decor was perfectly selected and every detail for a stay was thought of.

The location for JTNP is perfect. House was very clean. Owner very responsive. The yard was so nice. Just a nice comfortable home

Everything was great! Super clean, well-furnished and thought out. Really appreciated finding a place that allowed two dogs! The hosts gave clear check-in instructions, driving directions, and explained policies well. The weekday off-season pricing gives such good bang for your buck

No cons! One tip though - might be nice to add a brief on how to change the hot tub temp. Not sure if we did it right? It was turned up when we arrived and I tried to turn it down but not sure if it actually changed!
