Barrow Hill Barns

This was a 2 day stay for a funeral. My husband is disabled and I can thoroughly recommend this place for such people. Rob's kindness in letting us have a late check out helped tremendously. Communication was very good prior to stay. Whilst I ended up too poorly with a chest infection to go to the funeral. Recoupetatig on the sofa watching the lovely countryside was a great help. Such a lovely peaceful place and so comfortable and well appointed. I've previously ran a holiday let myself in Brighton for many years so I know how maintaining standards are so important.

A bit pricey

Fantastic barn. Easy parking and key collection. Extremely clean and beautiful decor. Loved having secure garden for the dogs and great views. The barn was very well equipped had comfortable beds and a good shower. The under floor heating kept us comfortably warm. Expect it might get quite hot in the barn in very sunny weather due to lots of glass, but typically we just had rain! Appreciated the warm water dog wash for muddy pups - great to find somewhere that is truly dog friendly.

Ran out of hot water a couple of times, but had access to boost the boiler so not a major problem.

Very clean, quiet and well equipped.

Can you put in a dressing table and mirror to do your hair?

Spacious enough for 3x adult couples. Well equipped kitchen. Very clean and organised.

Living area needs a few repairs and updating.Dining table very old and worn. Supporting bar broken and poorly repaired. Could do with being updated. Drainage smell emanating from front downstairs bedroom.

Boxsteddle had bigger communal spaces (kitchen and lounge) than I had thought. This was ideal as we had booked 2 cottages and could gather in the larger one. Excellent decor and facilities. Very cosy too!

Key safe for Boxsteddle was quite stiff. Flagstones outside the front door got very slippery in the cold - a bag of salt to spread would have been useful.
