"Carpenter's cottage home from home"

Carpenters cottage was really cute clean and comfortable we had a brilliant weekend and would highly recommend it to everyone there is everything a couple needs to have a relaxing time together

There wasn't anything we didn't like the couple who own the cottage live next-door and are friendly helpful really nice people

Our stay at Carpenters Cottage was outstanding. I would go as far as to say that it the best private accommodation I have stayed at. The cottage itself is beautiful, a really lovely warm wood fire with plenty of wood, full equipped kitchen, super clean and tidy and very comfortable lounge area and bed. Every tiny detail has been considered with the hosts in a separate building next door there is nothing you want for. The location of the cottage is only a few steps away from middle of town with loads of pubs, restaurants and a cocktail bar. The surrounding area is beautiful and only a short trip to York. Highly recommended.

Lovely little cottage in a central location. The owners were very helpful and lots of little added touches. Fresh flowers and condiments were lovely.

The only criticism was that the towels were very rough, needed some softener 😔.

"The perfect cottage"

We stayed for 2 nights and it was perfect. Loads of character and far better than staying in an impersonal hotel. We had a great stay and would gladly stay again (highlights were the location, off-road parking, fire, biscuits, apples, toiletries and warm welcome). Thank you!
