Moon River House

Beautiful location, very friendly and helpful housekeeper (thank you Renate) and also Melinda for the initial booking. Very clean and comfortable house and facilities. The fire fireplace in the main living area worked amazingly especially as it was cold. The rooms could do with heaters or extra blankets during winter as the temperatures dropped significantly at night, but the linens provided were of high quality. Renate went out of her way to make sure that there was new and decent crockery which we appreciated. The location is amazing with the house being literally on the river/sea mouth. I would only suggest that the outside lights be replaced or fixed but other than that, I would recommend this house as a getaway to anyone considering.

Outside lights (especially by the braai area) were not working. Rechargeable lights (incase of loadshedding) was available though which we used and worked okay.

This property is one of our favourites and it's all about the location. It has direct river access and is a mere 3 minute walk to the stunning soft white sand beach. The kayak was a huge hit with our teenage children. It's so peaceful to wake to bird sounds and amazing views of the surrounding mountains.

We were given the incorrect host telephone number which made check-in stressful as we were running late due to flight delays and couldn't inform our hosts of our new arrival details. The house is not insulated so can be cold in the winter when the wind blows through the window gaps but we just buy lots of firewood for the efficient wood burning stove which heats the living area. There is a baboon crisis in Pringle Bay which puts a damper on this idilic holiday town. You cannot leave doors open or have an outside BBQ without being on high alert for baboons.
