"Very good"

8.0

The property itself was in a great location, it was quite, peaceful and so serene that my husband and myself ( I am writing this review for us both) got some of the best sleep we’ve had in awhile.

The description does not match the property. We were expecting a jetted tub as listed online and there was none, There were also no spices or seasonings of any kind to cook with, nor was there coffee available to make on a daily basis, my husband and myself travel like this twice a year and to be totally honest this was the first place that we had to go out and buy all our own spices, seasonings, sugar, coffee along with extra toilet paper… we also want to bring to your attention that we noticed the shower from upstairs leaks into the bedroom downstairs right before the bathroom door, we didn’t really notice it until the 2nd to last day. Thank you and I hope this review helps out future renters.

"Very high end Smoky Mountains cabin experience"

9.0

Honored to be the first to review Bear Claw Cove on booking. Basically, it is a really nice, very well appointed, sturdily built cabin in the Smoky Mountains, convenient to Sevierville/Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg. 2 bedrooms, one could sleep 2 adults and the other can take 2 adults + 2 kids, you could sleep 2 additional adults if using the sofas. Nice fenced yard for a dog, we picked some blackberries we found around the periphery. LOTS of amenities including a fantastic grill, hot tub, and arcade game. I really enjoyed the arcade game, if you grew up in the 80s-90s you will love this, it has hundreds of classic games on unlimited play. A tip about the game: you change games by holding down the "add coin" button for about 5 seconds, this brings up a little menu you can use to pick a different game. (Be advised that the game is located in the living room which is not the impression you get from the photos.) Full kitchen; we were there a week, cooked most of our meals ourselves and had no problem doing this, the kitchen equipment is pretty complete--only thing we would have appreciated that they didn't have, was food storage containers for leftovers. The dishwasher, clothes washer and dryer were fantastic for longer stays. Nice TVs upstairs and downstairs with subscriptions to basically everything. The back deck is really roomy and great for sitting. I enjoyed the hot tub as well. Nice hot showers. It even has covered parking for 2 cars (though it would be a tight fit for trucks). The views are excellent, though not quite as clear as we expected, due to high foliage in the summer. The best view is from a little 2nd floor balcony. The owners were very responsive to a couple of questions we had, we just asked with the booking chat feature and they answered within 24 hours. There is a similar cabin right next door but there was no one there during our stay, so we had the hilltop all to ourselves.

A few minor flaws: 2nd floor bathroom door won't close, AC vent in the same room blasts cold air directly at the toilet. Garbage can was too small for a 1 week stay. Lack of containers for storing food. Absolutely no food provided, not even basic condiments, so you have to bring in everything yourself including salt and pepper. Cabin was a bit hard to find the first time, even with navigation--there is a driveway leading to it that says "private drive", that's the right one. We were sent a door code that didn't work; fortunately they had sent another one earlier that did work and got us into the house. In spite of the hilltop location, you are actually quite near to a very active 2-lane road so there is some traffic noise during the day. Also the "court" for the 2 cabins is a little cramped so you can't quite turn into the driveway directly, I had to make a 3 point turn every time. These are minor quibbles though, overall this is a great place.
