Mayfield Cottage

Absolutely lovely and cosy cottage, more spacious than we thought based on pictures. Beautiful view! The surroundings were astonishing. The area is quiet and beautiful.

Although overall the cottage was very clean, there were some dog/cat hairs in the property. But as said, overall very clean.

The cottage is located within walking distance of St John's Chapel, where we did our morning walk everyday with the dog along a well-made path. The rooms are spacious and there are pleasant views from the rear windows of fields and hills. We appreciated the efficient heating when the temperature dropped. All facilities worked well, (although we didn't use the oven), WiFi is good but be advised there is no TV. This was not a problem as we were out everyday visiting our friends in Middleton-in-Teesdale and enjoying the views on our drives to Blanchland and Corbridge.

The pathway to the door was a little slippery and uneven and we didn't use the decking, which also looked slippery. There was a some noise from the road when heavy traffic passed (such as tractors) but this was infrequent.

Lovely, well furnished and cosy cottage with terrific views over open countryside. Lots of footpaths nearby for great country walks. A very clean, well equipped cottage, great communication from the owners.

it was clean, warm, so cosy, lovely location, dog friendly and a great parking space. amazing views and lovely to watch the sheep being fed each morning!
