Seaside Retreat

Quietly tucked away, super warm and cosy and just a stroll from the nature reserve. Perfect for our winter weekend.

Location. Walking access to nature reserve, and easy drive to Rye and surrounding area. Cleanliness. Plenty of hot water and heating if required. Good shower. Property was very thoughtfully appointed including provision of milk etc and sparkling wine (THANK YOU) on arrival.

Difficult to read sign on house. We had trouble finding it as we were looking for ‘seaside retreat’ not ‘the bungalow’. We finally located the property by looking at the photograph on the website. Access road was diabolical due to huge deep pools of water which were very off putting on arrival. Lack of mirrors in bedrooms and small toilet. Couldn’t work out tumble dryer even after extensively consulting manual. Another comfortable chair in sitting room. The house is advertised for 6 people after all. There were 4 of us so we took it in turns to sit on the uncomfy small chair!

Location excellent

I am not very technical. Would have liked Manual for TV, as kept saying Ariel not connected so couldn't watch terrestrial TV. This is not a complaint just a observation

Lovely cottage, nice garden. Well-appointed with all that you need. The location is at the end of a lane and very quiet. The neighbours were very pleasant. The location was perfect for the beach and nature reserve, just a little walk. We return to Rye Harbour most years for its quiet and tranquil setting, somewhere you can really relax. With a good gastro pub and cafe.

The overall standard of everything was outstanding

Absolutely stunning couldn’t of asked for more, a very special bungalow. Looks small from the outside but extremely spacious. Lovely garden, perfect for families. Location is great for Rye Harbour, the walk to the beach is so tranquil.

The road outside is in desperate need of resurfacing but would not put us off re-booking.

Beautiful house with everything we wanted for a relaxing weekend away. Could not fault the accommodation at all and will be recommending to our friends. The location is good with easy access to a pub and stunningly wild coastal walks.
