Wisteria Cottage

The cottage is along a very nice, but narrow, country road and only a couple of miles from the Slieve Russell Hotel. We were at a family wedding there and stayed in Wisteria Cottage as a party of 5 ( my wife, her 2 brothers and her mother.) The cottage is really at the backdoor of the owners' home and the keys to the property were left in the door. The cottage is very handy for anyone at a wedding in the Slieve Russell, but you still need to drive there.

There is a step from the bedrooms and bathroom down to the kitchen and living room which is very difficult to see. My elderly mother in law fell coming down it and hurt her back (we spent 8 hours in casualty with her the following day, fortunately nothing was broken). This would need to be addressed and drawn to the attention of future guests as it quite dangerous. Even though we only planned to stay one night we had to pay for the whole weekend, we were aware of this in advance but it did seem a bit excessive. There were teabags left for us but no coffee or milk, it would have been nice to have had these basics.

The shower was not very powerful but probably due to low water pressure.

Unpleasant smell in living room/kitchen

It was cosy and comfortable. Weather wise wasn't great so we stayed indoors most of the time. We were kept occupied with the range of DVDs in the cottage, which we enjoyed. The cottage was fully equipped with everything we needed.

Nothing major. There was a smell in the fridge area but then we were living on a farm so we weren't too bothered by it. There was air freshener provided so we just used that and we still had a great time in the living area. Will certainly come back again when we are in the area next time.

Authentic Iriish cottage with all the facilities required to entertain a family with children. Great location with privacy and excellent value for money. Will use again!

Lovely cosy irish cottage. Very nice backyard, in house is everything what you need to make your stay comfortable. Very friendly and helpfull owners.
