O Pouso dos Pousos

The location was perfect. The view from the villa was fantastic. We had a excellent stay at this villa. It was very quiet. The breakfast was really nice. Our host was perfect. We have never had a host like this before. Helder was so kind and always there for us if we needed something. We will definitely go back and we can hardly wait.

This house is beyond amazing. It is very modern and appointed beautifully in each room. The dining room is great, with breakfast of fresh fruit, pastries, meat and cheeses delivered each morning; the couch in the living room is comfortable and looks right out to the pool; the beds are nice and firm; and, the showers were fantastic. The pool area is over the top gorgeous with a view like you would not believe. All of my photos look like postcards! The host is great too. We got stuck in a different town due to road construction and our GPS would not give us a good route so he came and got us!!! That is so kind and we will be eternally grateful. Our stay was relaxing and allowed us to enjoy the beautiful Douro Valley from a bird's eye perch.

I didn't like that I had to wire a refundable security deposit instead of have it taken from my credit card, but I am assured that is being returned now in the same fashion required by the host since we caused no damage.

It had an amazing view and was very clean and comfortable. As it’s located at the start of the Duoro, it was very easy to explore the other towns and villages. Helder was also a great host.

Comfortable, clean, spacious. Incredible view of the Douro Valley.

2 things: 1) the water in the plunge pool was a bit cold. Would recommend installing a water heater to provide a more comfortable temp. 2) the parking lot feels unsafe - the glass wall at the edge of the lot can’t prevent a car from going over the edge (12’ drop) if someone were to accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brake. Would suggest installing a guardrail.

I choose O Pouso dos Pousos to celebrate my 30's birthday with the family and it was definitely the right decision! We had a lot of fun at the swimming pool with the kids and we couldn't stop talking about the amazing view over Douro & the vineyards. The house is very cozy and comfortable, had everything we needed (also for babies) and the outside area is absolutely fantastic. The small details really enhanced the whole stay - e.g. welcome gift, available wines for purchase and the bathrobes in each room (precious to use at / after the swimming pool) 10 stars to the service! The communication with Helder was flawless – he was very attentive and always available. Ana was very sweet & friendly – she brought us a really good & fresh breakfast every morning which we highly appreciated. The whole family loved the stay!

Not a complain but something we noticed in the breakfast: not much ham & cheese (we were 6 persons and 1 child and had about 1 slide each person) which was a pity for great bread and croissants brought by Ana. Despite that, the breakfast was really good!

the view is sensational, takes your breath away! the house inside is done to a high standard, comfy beds, great kitchen, good showers. a real oasis to escape to, we loved it

we were a group of 6 people (3 couples) and only 2 rooms have bathrooms (there was a private toilet however) which meant our friends had to wait to use the shower in our room - also the bathrooms are open to the room so no doors to use the shower or toilet so we’d have to vacate the room totally for them to use it. fine for a family but just slightly inconvenient for us
