Oakura Bay Villa - Stay Waiheke

An absolutely beautiful place in a gorgeous location. The staff at Stay Waiheke were incredible, so helpful and just so nice to deal with. This was the perfect getaway.

Location was lovely and super private. History of the house and property nice to see remains as is. Lovely smooth worn floorboards Lots of sunny spots out of the wind to sit outside and shady trees Awesome amount of bird life Large lawn area to enjoy

Although I appreciate the villa is old and will have age related wear and some quirks: For a high cost stay aimed at special events; some areas need urgent attention.. Missing boards on base of exterior decking. High lichen and green moss on roof and shaded parts of the exterior walls. Overall clean of the exterior needed. Garden around the villa in real need of a tidy. The valuable to the wildlife creek beside villa,needs a weeding to allow flow through. Lounge room fireplace is smokey, due to clean needed or perhaps wood provided not dry enough. Personal opinion*, master bedroom mattress too firm. Kitchen oven is very old and noisy, clean but stained cooking trays. If cooking a group dinner it would be a little difficult to use easily. Cleanliness under oven and refrigerator needs attention. On day we arrived, the plumber was in the house fixing a tap. Damage to a kitchen drawer was pointed out that awaited fixing. Cleaners were still at property finishing their work and I waited in car to be given the key and instructions *Again,as a high end price point this would not be acceptable if I was having a special event and would normally be complaining had I wanted the experience to be just right on arrival. *As a concern for the eco side of things,the wake lapping caused from the vehicle barge across at Kennedy Point it has a constant effect on the shoreline at villa bay side..including the Dotterels nesting on the beach there. It may be worth a discussion with the groups involved in protecting the shoreline and wildlfe.

Absolutely amazing place 😍. We came here for a mid week getaway, and it didn't disappoint ! Fabulous location, within easy reach of anything really!! We stayed with friends, and the setup of the rooms/beds were perfect. Spacious, well stocked, comfortable and warm. Beautiful views and amazing beach to hang out on x I can't recommend this accommodation enough! Fantastic ❤️

I loved that it was clearly set up with groups in mind. Two coffee machines were a great idea so no one had to wait for a coffee. We also had a show of dolphins frolicking in the bay as we enjoyed our morning coffee. It was also homely and a really comfortable place to stay. Gorgeous but not too fussy.

Nothing it was great. We are planning our next stay already.

The beach front location of the house was perfect. It was quiet with only birds chirping, and you could see and hear the car ferry. The house was simple, elegant with its character retained and just beautiful. There was enough space for the 7 of us to have our own quiet space. Walks on the beach in the morning was a blessing. Elizabeth was lovely, she greeted us when we arrived, showed me around house. Rob the tour driver I arranged through the accommodation was good fun as he drove us around Waiheke. Highly recommended family holiday home, especially for the kids.

Can't fault anything really other than the gravel road driveway, which can be challenging on a raining day, especially for those not used to driving off road.

A few things felt like they were going to fall apart - rocking chair, slat on bunk beds
