"Cosy stay in beautiful setting."

Beautiful quiet and rural location. Thoughtful welcome provisions & a pretty jug of flowers. Well-equipped kitchen. Warm and cosy throughout.

Bedrooms and shower rooms were rather cramped.

Beautiful and comfortable accommodation with a well-equipped kitchen, furnished with exceptional taste - such a refreshing change from most holiday cottages. The Engine Room was a great base for exploring north-west Norfolk, in easy reach of everything we wanted to visit. We loved seeing the peacocks in the gardens.

Backing out of the parking space without hitting the tree was a bit of a challenge - larger cars would be best advised to park on the grass, not in the covered area.

"If you’re looking for a peaceful holiday, in a good location to visit the coast and beaches, Sandringham and National Tr"

10.0

We love visiting Norfolk for walking and bird watching, have stayed in various nice hotels and self catering accommodation over the years, but this was the best place we’ve stayed. We were extremely comfortable in this beautiful home. We loved the atmosphere and decor, the peace and quiet. On one of the days, the weather was particularly wet, but we still had an enjoyable day, reading and admiring all the interesting pictures and garden prints. We cooked most of our meals in the kitchen, which was well stocked with every dish and utensil we needed. On the days we did get out walking, it was great to come back to such comfort and to be able to dry our wet jackets and boots in the utility room. The gardens are a particularly wonderful feature of this accommodation and we were invited to walk around and to enjoy all the lovely perspectives and views. We enjoyed seeing the many varieties of trees and shrubs and the beautiful sculptures. We appreciated this greatly and it added to the restful nature of the location. Thanks to Katie for excellent communication and the recommendation of the local pub, the Brisley Bell where we had a great meal.

Everything was perfect and we do hope to return.

"Disappointed!"

7.0

It’s a beautiful house set in a lovely area with peacocks, very quiet.

We arrived late afternoon so time for the house to have been cleaned well I’m unsure when someone else may have stayed here, there were too many cobwebs and spiders, every corner and under the chairs, we got the property was in countryside and you can get a few bugs but this was not that, it just needed a good clean, it’s such a shame because we loved the house itself and the decor ! There were a few glasses and crockery that hadn’t been washed right so I put all in the dishwasher to wash as we were there for the week and had some friends joining us later for a few days. The bedding needs to be upgraded…very tired! The double bed mattered needs upgrading….too soft and lumpy! The showers are very small but coped with them! It such a shame as this place could be amazing, it needs the owners to view it and check it before people stay, as we hoovered away almost all cobwebs/spiders away, it may not look too bad but it wasn’t our plan to have to give the property a clean before we could fully relax! The cost for this property is high for what you actually get! Lastly, not sure when it was last decorated but could do with a freshen up! This is the most negative review I have ever posted, I hope the owners take note!

The Engine House is just quality. The location is a touch remote but for us that added to the tranquility and restfulness of our stay. Everything was provided for , even a lovely welcome pack with a fresh home made loaf
