Ribbonwood Cottage

The house was clean, neat and well maintained. The property provided parking and was well appointed in terms of the kitchen etc. It was walking distance to the lake for a fit person.

The advertisement claimed the property was 200mtr from the center. This is not true. We walked and the distance is 550mtr. This is misleading for people who are not walking fit and an important piece of information if you are not. The return walk is uphill which is fine for us but those who are not fit would need to use their vehicle on every trip to town.

TV rather dated. Has DVDs but didn’t have Netflix

There was hot water issue, the property staff was responsive and came to fix the problem shortly.

The kitchen utensils and some of the pillow covers were quite old, would better replace new ones. The wall heaters in those rooms seem not working, luckily it was not cold during our stay, so we didn’t trouble the staff again to check it.

Ribbonwood Cottage had an immediately cosy feel, and our family was very comfortable there for two nights. Well equipped kitchen. Great heating options. Loved the easy walkway shortcut to the shops. Tekapo has more to offer than we expected - could have stayed another couple of nights. My favourite feature was the amazing mountain views from the lounge room!

The basin in the separate, single toilet made the space uncomfortable. The shower pod was a weird experience. Pillows could do with an update.

Nice location, nice view. Clean and comfortable. Good choice for family.
